James Davison
President
For more than 20 years, Jamie has been a dynamic presence on the Halifax Marketing scene. Jamie is Modern Media’s founder and president. Bringing key strategic guidance to each project, Jamie propels the MM team to deliver work that exceeds client’s needs and expectations. Jamie started Modern with the objective of creating a marketing firm that is driven for results and measurement, focused on the new and emerging methods of communication.
Jamie began his career in newspaper and television advertising before developing one of Canada’s first successful e-commerce sites for Clearwater Fine Foods. Building on his success at Clearwater, Jamie became a founding partner of Extreme Group, and was the driving force behind their interactive marketing division.
David Spriet
VP Sift Marketing Intelligence
David leads Modern Media’s Sift Marketing Intelligence services, overseeing the structuring, implementation and analysis of Marketing Intelligence initiatives for Modern Media clients.
With over 15 years of experience, David has a wealth of knowledge in strategic marketing. Prior to joining Modern Media, David spent 7 years with CIBC in Toronto as Senior Director of Marketing Communications. Responsible for a multi-million dollar budget, David guided the planning and implementation of numerous national campaigns that leveraged a full breadth of marketing mediums. From 1995 – 2001 David worked for Thomas Cook, a multi-national travel and financial services company. During this time he assumed increasing levels of responsibility rising to VP Marketing of Americas Financial Services, before being seconded to London England to lead the marketing agenda for the Global Consumer Business.
Michael Perry
VP Operations
Michael brings extensive experience in corporate strategy and the development and deployment of internet based technologies. Michael is directly involved win the day-to-day operations of each department at Modern Media, as well as with each team member. Michael ensures that all projects are managed efficiently, and is continually improving and evolving Modern Media as an organization and service provider.
Prior to joining Modern Media, Michael played key leadership roles at IronSentry, and Metaworks, both of which are venture funded companies that develop and market internet technology products to North American audiences. Prior to these companies, Michael was co-founder in a leading digital marketing company which had long standing relationships with clients including Aliant, Maritime Life Assurance, and Mobil Oil.
